The Campinell Family // Newborn Session In Greenwich

Mother and Newborn Son In Blue Bedroom

At Home In Greenwich, Connecticut

There's something very special about photographing a family in the comfort of their own home. You're able to catch a glimpse of their routines and activities, and capture snapshots of their every day life. I absolutely love these types of shoots and, in the winter month when the New England weather is unpredictable, I tend to do a lot of them. I even travelled to DC for a session at the end of last year!

My first in home session this year was with the Campinell family in Greenwich, CT. I met Lacey and Mark through a mutual friend a few years back when they both still lived in the city. They reached out to me shortly before the birth of their second son, and we were able to set up a weekend session. I had such an amazing time documenting their new life in Connecticut as a family of four. Carter, their playful two-year-old son was my helper/assistant for most of the morning, and together we were able to capture some of Cole's sweet new baby moments.

The David Family // Family Session In DC

NYC_0380.jpg

Newborn Photography in Georgetown

I had the pleasure of photographing Sarah and Jim's adorable family of four while I was in DC over the holidays. Sarah's sister Kaitlin gifted this mini-session to her as a Christmas present, and we were able to squeeze something in on New Year's Eve!

It was pretty cold outside so we stuck to shooting indoors for the most part. We did sneak outside at the end for a couple of photos in front of their adorable brownstone in Georgetown. I had such a great time photographing their family - we were able to capture cute candids of their playful two-year-old and some really sweet shots of their newborn. I really couldn't have asked for a better session to end the year.

Congratulations again to the Davids on the newest addition to their family! And a special thanks to Kaitlin - my mentor and friend!

Alix // Dog Photo Shoot In Fort Greene

NYC_0328.jpg

Pet Photography In Brooklyn

I've always fantasized about becoming a professional pet photographer, so it was an absolute dream to shoot a "family" session for my friend Alix this weekend. We did a quick, 30 minute shoot at Fort Greene Park, just in time for her holiday e-cards. She bought matching sweaters for her and her rescue pup Wally, and they were a total hit. It's going to be hard to choose just one for her card, but check out some of my favorites below!

Sam and Tony // Doolan's Shore Club Wedding

NYC_0288.jpg

Fall Wedding in New Jersey

Sam and Tony's wedding might just be one of the most special days I've had the privilege of photographing this season. All love stories are special, of course, but sometimes you witness one that really touches you and it makes you realize the magnitude of what it means to share your life with someone.

On her wedding day, the bride recited vows to not one, but two people in the room; her groom Tony and his daughter Ella. She had Ella stand by her side during the ceremony and at one point, got down to address her directly, promising to love and support her unconditionally. Even though Sam may not have been there from the very beginning, the bond between the two of them was evident throughout the day. It's always nice witnessing two families come together on a wedding day, but this one was extra special.

Jessica Kamel // At Home With Ronen Lev Interior Designer

Upper East Side Lifestyle Shoot

Jessica Kamel invited us into her Upper East Side apartment last month and gave us a tour of her beautiful home space. With the help of long-time friend Chelsea Clinton, she recently launched Ronen Lev, a full-service interior design firm that helps New Yorkers source the perfect pieces to style their personal space.

One of her first projects, featured in Architectural Digest, was for a family I had just done a session with out in the Hamptons. What a small world!

Fall Wedding // Prospect Park Boathouse

NYC_0163.jpg

Fall Wedding In Brooklyn

It's funny how sometimes you develop an instant rapport with people you meet for the first time. The groom welcomed me into his downtown Brooklyn apartment the morning of his wedding with such ease and comfort, I almost felt like we were old pals meeting up for the thousandth time. With Fast & Furious playing in the background, and his army of groomsmen dressed in Superhero socks, the theme of the day was pretty clear. This action hero fan was getting ready to marry his Wonder Woman.

We made our way to the Prospect Park Boathouse for the couple's first look. The bride wore a stunning lace, backless dress, and pulled it off with such effortless style.

The entire day was filled with so much love and laughter. They included so many personal elements into their special day, all of which reflected their sweet style and fun-loving spirit. One of their close friends officiated the ceremony, and they both prepared page-long vows for each other. The sunset ceremony lead right into their reception overlooking the lake. You really couldn't have asked for a more romantic setting. Congratulations again to the happy couple! I hope you're able to relive some of these incredible moments through the photos!

Amy and Kyle // South Windsor Backyard Wedding

NYC_0235.jpg

Rustic Wedding In Connecticut

It's hard to even begin to fully describe what made Amy and Kyle's wedding day so special. Every single detail was so well thought out and personalized to fit their rustic, chic style. Amy and Kyle got ready separately at two gorgeous estates in South Windsor. The park they picked for their first look was just down the road, tucked away behind a row of houses and had a stunning willow tree.

The ceremony took place at a charming historic house with tons of vintage detailing throughout. They got married right on the porch with their guests seated on the lawn. As soon as the ceremony ended, everyone made their way to the farmhouse property across the street for the reception. The tent was set up next to the horse barn, and we were able to capture a few shots of them with the horses running wild in the back. The entire day was entirely unique to them, and each location was out-of-this-world beautiful. It'll be impossible to recreate the experience, but hopefully these photos give you a taste of what the day was like.

The Shuart Family // Newborn Session In Brooklyn

mom-diaper-changing-station.jpg

At Home In Park Slope

This sweet newborn session with 7-week-old Pete was a really special one for me. I met Anna and Kristen two years ago on what I think they would consider to be their first date. They were being set up by their best friends and were meeting for the very first time at a dinner party in Greenpoint. I wasn't aware of the set up at the time and definitely couldn't have predicted the outcome, but I do believe the best kind of relationships begin unexpectedly.

Over the past two years, I've watched them fall in love, get married in front of their friends and family, and recently welcome their baby boy Pete into the world. He is absolutely adorable, and has clearly filled their hearts and lives with so much joy in these seven short weeks.

Family Session On The Upper West Side

Thanksgiving always brings families together, and it's the perfect time to squeeze in your annual family photos before the holidays. Last weekend, I stopped by Priscilla and Casey's gorgeous home in the Upper West Side to capture their son Hudson's first Thanksgiving! Hudson had a few outfit changes, including a more traditional Korean attire. He was such a natural in front of the camera, and we even had time do a mini cake-smashing for his early birthday celebration. He could not take his hands off the cake... but who can blame him!
